ABOUT
Thailand’s Turtle Island
Koh Tao, “Turtle Island”, is one of Southeast Asia’s best-known spots for snorkelling and diving, about an hour and a quarter from Koh Samui by speedboat. Its reefs stayed in good shape because the island was barely developed until the 1980s. Just off its coast sits Koh Nang Yuan: three small islands joined by one white sandbar, and one of the most photographed views in Thailand. On a private charter, your captain times each stop around the sea and the crowds.
AT A GLANCE
Koh Tao Day Trip at a Glance
The day runs about 8 hours: hotel pickup at 8:30 am, the Koh Nang Yuan viewpoint and sandbar, snorkelling at Koh Tao, lunch, a second reef or beach stop, and back on Koh Samui at about 5:00 pm. Koh Tao is a long crossing, so this trip runs on speedboats and motor yachts.
Private charters to Koh Tao start from ฿38,000 per boat by speedboat and ฿138,000 by motor yacht. The price covers captain and crew, round-trip hotel transfers, soft drinks, fruit and snorkelling equipment, with lunch on selected boats. The Koh Nang Yuan entry fee is paid separately in cash.
